Teen Writing

The Teen Writing program is open to students in Years 7-9. The program uses Year 11 and 12 literature texts to introduce students to the art of literary analysis. 

Students learn how to:

  • Identify literary techniques
  • Analyse themes
  • Evaluate author’s purpose
  • Discuss the context of the text
  • Step outside the text to provide a philosophical interpretation

Teachers learn step-by-step to write a literary essay, a critical skill that prepares them for Year 11 and 12 ATAR.

Class Details

Each teaching session runs for 1.5 hours.
Terms run for 10 weeks.
